Key Responsibilities

System Management: Administer and maintain both Sintrex-developed and third-party systems.

System Deployment: Build, configure, and deploy internal and third-party systems.

Alert Management: Monitor, manage, and respond to fault and performance alerts.

Data Analysis: Collect, analyse, and interpret data for reporting, troubleshooting, and investigations.

Anomaly Detection: Identify, validate, and escalate anomalies in systems and datasets.

Incident Investigation: Investigate, analyse, and report on faults and performance issues identified via internal systems, third-party tools, or client requests.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for processes, procedures, and system designs.

Solution Design: Develop and implement data collection methods, monitoring strategies, and analytical reports.

Troubleshooting & Escalation: Perform initial triage and troubleshooting, escalating issues where necessary.

Client Engagement: Participate in meetings and present findings, insights, and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.

Collaboration: Work closely with team members and cross-functional departments to ensure service continuity and client satisfaction.

Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with industry trends, tools, and emerging technologies.


Essential Requirements

Qualifications:

   o Grade 12 certification.

   o Relevant tertiary qualification (Diploma or Degree in IT or related field) or equivalent certifications:

          ▪ Networking (CCNA, Mikrotik, Networking+)

          ▪ Linux/Unix (RHCSA, LPIC-1, Linux+)


Experience:

o 1 - 2 years’ experience in Linux/Unix systems administration

o 1 - 2 years’ experience in networking or network operations

o 1 - 2 years’ exposure to virtualisation technologies

o 1 - 2 years’ experience in observability, monitoring, or reliability engineering (e.g., synthetic monitoring, NPM, APM)

o 1 - 2 years’ experience in scripting (e.g., Python, Bash)

o 1 - 2 years’ exposure to databases (relational and/or NoSQL)


Technical Proficiencies

Essential:

•Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching)

•Proficiency with diagnostic tools (tcpdump, Wireshark, traceroute)

•Familiarity with synthetic monitoring tools (e.g., ThousandEyes)

•Scripting capability (Python, Shell/Bash)

•Exposure to virtualisation and containerisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Docker)

•Working knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases

•Experience interacting with clients in a technical capacity


Desirable:

•Exposure to network tapping and packet broker technologies

•Experience with packet analysis and flow monitoring (e.g., NetFlow, sFlow)

•Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

•Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or automation frameworks

•Exposure with version control (Git)

•Basic understanding of APIs

•Familiarity with JSON/XML handling
