Overview
The Accountant reports directly to the Financial Manager. The Accountant role is a specialised accounting role where the individual needs to have a broad understanding of both simple and complex accounting problems, as well as the ability to solve them. Their day-to-day function is to ensure that the accounting records are up to date and that payments are made on time and is accurate. The Accountant will work in a team environment in the Finance department.

Assisting with the preparation of accounts to trial balance
Preparing of Debtors invoices
Review of Creditors invoices
Creditors reconciliations
Prepayment schedules
Journals
Bank processing and reconciliations
Preparation of local payments
VAT return preparation
Reconciliations
Preparation of monthly group reporting schedules
Uploading of group reporting schedules onto Group Finance System
Assist Finance Manager with forecasting, budgeting, month-end reporting process and any other ad-hoc requests in line with business requirements
Assist with year-end statutory and B-BBEE audit General financial administration
Essential Requirements
At least three to five year’s accounting experience
Accounting Qualification (BCom Accounting, Accounting Diploma etc.)
Knowledge of South African Tax Law
Knowledge of Sage Intacct
Knowledge of Finnivo will be advantageous
Strong Microsoft office skills (excel, power point and word)
